Aspiring Writers – Treat Your Writing As A Business

What do you believe? What’s important to you? What do you value? Those are all questions that go into creating your own personal coaching philosophy. I’ve gone through Franklin Covey courses where we’re asked to create our own mission statement and I’ve gone to coaching clinics that ask us to formulate our coaching philosophy. So when I saw an article over at the Harvard Business Review’s (HBR) blog, I thought it would be interesting to share with you guys. It talks about creating a mission statement in eight words or less, so I figured I’d accept the challenge. Let’s see what an 8-word coaching philosophy would look like.

A Business That Has Long Term Potential: He believes in investing in those businesses that have a long term potential like insurance. He has invested in insurance companies. He has also invested in other companies that had a long term business potential. He thinks that these businesses are going to growing over the next many decades so he invests in them and most of the time, he has been proven to be right.

Without the cost, you can find and read books just the same, and you can get the same research done. Of course, you will not get a degree from just going to the library. But you will have the chance to read as many Philosophy books as you can for practically no cost.

Start a journal. Use this to track your progress and reach for your goals. Let it be a way of reminding you what works and what doesn’t. Jot down your weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Repeat those entries every day until you conquer them. A journal is a great way to successfully coach yourself into a strong and sustainable fitness philosophy.

The most important tip to improve a person’s writing skill is to be well versed about the topic he is writing on. Research work should be done in order to know more about the particular topic. Sometimes reading up from the writings of a particular author helps. The person should know about the style of writing and also the background on which the author’s writing is based on. All these knowledge gives an edge to the writing and makes the writing of a better quality.
